A Custom Look Doesn’t Have to Cost You a Custom Price

Problem
The goal for remodelers and builders is to create a custom look at the reasonable price. In order to make money in the end, you need to choose competitively priced materials that still give you a consumer-friendly, custom-like look.
Solution
When one of our customers came to us with a remodel plan, we chose to spec Aristokraft Cabinetry to create an upgraded design at the price that he wanted. We chose the Durham door style because it is a popular look that people are trending towards. Our customer also saw that the door style wasn’t that far off from a custom job that he had done earlier.
The Aristokraft product also offered many design options to achieve the custom look. We stacked wall cabinets, placing tall cabinets below and the shorter cabinets above. We also took out the center panel of the doors and added glass, which was illuminated by lighting placed on the interior of the cabinets. The mouldings were stacked to take up the 12-inch space between the top row of cabinets and the ceiling. We even used Aristokraft parts to create decorative island posts and other details.
Result
In the end, our customer was very satisfied. Not only did he save money, but he also created a kitchen with a classic, custom look. On average, a custom kitchen can cost up to $65,000; however, this customer was able to complete the kitchen for around $20,000, saving himself about $45,000.
Even better than saving money, he did not have to sacrifice style. His kitchen design is one that you would see in high end homes. It’s a very trendy, popular look with the clean lines of Aristokraft’s Durham door style and warm color of the Toasted Antique finish. .
When budgets require it, Aristokraft is a great substitute for expensive custom cabinetry. Not only is it price competitive, but it gives our customers the upgrade options that they need to have a nice end product. People are definitely beginning to realize that they don’t need to spend as much when they can achieve something very similar with less money.
